A demonstration does not have to be approved, as freedom of assembly is a fundamental right.
However, a demonstration in the open air must be registered and confirmed by the city of Wolfsburg according to the Nds. assembly law (NVersG).
A demonstration according to the NVersG exists if at least two persons meet for a joint demonstration aimed at participating in the formation of public opinion (§ 2 NVersG).
Application with the following details:
- Place of the assembly and, if applicable, route (route of march - if with march).
- Beginning and end
- Motto of the rally
- Surname, first name, address, date of birth of the responsible leader and how to reach him/her by telephone
- Expected number of participants

The application submission must be at least 48 hours prior to the announcement of the meeting. Weekends and holidays do not count towards the deadline period. So, for example, on Friday no demonstration can be registered for Sunday or Monday.
Assemblies in closed rooms do not have to be registered.
