When families with minor children move together, it is sufficient for one parent to register the change of address. This only applies if the parents are married.
If minor children and custodians are no longer registered for a joint residence in the future or if the sole residence or main residence of the child is to be moved by a custodian, the consent of the custodian who is not moving must always be proven in advance.

- Vehicle registration document or registration certificate part I (if you own a vehicle registered to you)
- Housing provider confirmation
The re-registration of an apartment is free of charge.
The notification period after moving into a new apartment is two weeks.
Difference between re-registration and registration:
- Ummeldung - occurs when you move within a city
- Registration - occurs when you move from another city or from abroad (see registration of residence).
