Since June 2, 2020, it has been possible in Wolfsburg to obtain simple civil register information about a person registered in Wolfsburg online (OLMERA). This requires a unique identification of the person being searched for. The information includes the surname, the first name, the currently stored address and possibly the doctor's degree. If the person you are looking for has moved or died within the last 5 years, you will also receive information about this. Retrieving information from the civil register costs 8.00 euros, which must be paid online in advance. However, this fee also applies if the person you are looking for cannot be found because, for example, he or she has not lived in Wolfsburg for more than 5 years, the spelling was incorrect or there is a block on providing information. If the online information service is unsuccessful, a written request can be sent to the citizens' services of the city of Wolfsburg, but the processing of this request is again subject to a fee.
