The registration office must be notified of any special commercial use of the vehicle. The notification can be made in writing or informally.
Different regulations apply to the individual types of transport.
In these cases, for example, a corresponding entry must be made in the registration certificate Part I (field 21) and an annual general inspection must be carried out.
If this type of use of the vehicle is already intended at the time of registration, this must be noted at the time of registration and also notified to the insurer. Acceptance of the vehicle in accordance with the provision of the BOKraft is also required in some cases.
Business registration and presence of one of the following types of use:
- Cab
- Rental car
- Self-drive rental vehicle
- Vehicles for commercial transportation of schoolchildren
- Vehicles for commercial transport of kindergarten children
- Vehicles for commercial transportation of disabled persons
- Identity card or passport with registration certificate
- Vehicle registration document / registration certificate part I
- Vehicle registration certificate / registration certificate part II
- SEPA direct debit mandate for collection of vehicle tax
- Previous license plates - not required if the vehicle has been taken out of service
- Proof of a valid main inspection according to § 29 StVZO. HU inspection report; the submission of the inspection report on the last main inspection is only required if the due date of the next HU is not evident from the vehicle registration certificate / ZBI.
- Electronic confirmation of insurance (eVB). For the respective use, the eVB must be issued by the insurance company with the endorsement of one of the types of use listed above. For the termination of the use of a vehicle with one of the above listed types of use, a new eVB, without the note of the type of use, must be issued by the insurance company.
If applicable, additionally at the time of application is required:
by proxy / representative*:- issued power of attorney (form see below) including personal document of the grantor of the power of attorney and the authorized representative
- Current excerpt from the commercial register, current business registration, power of attorney of the managing director or authorized signatory or personal appearance of the managing director/authorized signatory and their identity card/passport.
- Excerpt from the register of associations; identity card or passport and power of attorney of the appointed representative(s).
- Proof of membership in a chamber (e.g. medical association, chamber of notaries, veterinary association, etc.) or
- certificate from the tax office
for companies under civil law:
- Complete overview of the partners (as a rule, partnership agreement)
- Power of attorney and declaration of the person to whom the registration is to be made (confirmed by signature of all partners) as well as the identity card / passport of the partner to whom the registration is to be made.
Fees will be charged according to the Gebührenordnung für Maßnahmen im Straßenverkehr (GebOSt) from an amount of 12.00 EUR if the change is made subsequently. Otherwise, the fees are based on the registration process. The specific fee amount can only be determined on site based on the presentation of the complete documents.
Additional costs for the creation of license plates are not included and will not be charged by the vehicle registration authority.
