Digital twin

News
On Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25, the thermographic flight for the digital (climate) twin of the city of Wolfsburg was successfully carried out. During a thermographic flight, thermal imaging cameras are used to take thermal images of the earth's surface. The thermal images are used to generate heat emission maps, which are then used to create geographical climate analyses and urban climate reports. Two thermal imaging flights are to be carried out for the city - one in winter and one in summer. The analyses of the thermal images from these measurement flights will show the exact temperature distribution in the urban area. The results will be incorporated into the digital twin and will also form a basis for municipal heat planning and the heat action plan.
