The Open Playground Manager project deals with the digital management of municipal objects. The digital recording of the condition of municipal objects, such as green spaces, sports halls, trees or play equipment, in real time is an important planning and control basis for urban processes.

Using playgrounds as a practical example, Smart City Wolfsburg is developing a digital tool for the management of municipal properties. The tool makes it easy to record and manage damage to playground equipment, for example. The Open Playground Manager is a manufacturer- and device-independent web application and maps the management process for playgrounds completely digitally.

The tool is also designed to be highly transferable. It can be easily adapted to other municipal properties in order to build a diverse management ecosystem.
