Voluntary services - get involved in your city

The city of Wolfsburg offers you a wide range of opportunities to get actively involved as part of a voluntary service. Whether in the social sector, culture, environmental protection or nature conservation - here you can gain valuable experience and make a real difference. Voluntary service gives you the chance to gain new perspectives, develop personally and experience your commitment in a supportive environment. Your advantages

  • Your voluntary service is accompanied by educational support and also includes attending seminars.

  • As a rule, voluntary service lasts twelve months. In exceptional cases, we also offer voluntary service for six, eighteen or twenty-four months.

  • You will receive a monthly allowance and we will provide you with social insurance.

Your voluntary social year

Experience social professions in practice and get involved with other people - that's what the Voluntary Social Year offers. The FSJ always starts on September 1st of each year.

The Voluntary Social Year can be completed in the following areas of the City of Wolfsburg:

  • Daycare centers
  • Youth development facilities
  • in all-day primary schools
  • Wolfsburg fire department

Your voluntary social year - culture and politics

Experience cultural or political professions in practice and get involved in society - that's what the Voluntary Social Year - Culture and Politics offers you. It starts on 01.08. or 01.09. of each year.

The City of Wolfsburg offers the following positions for an FSJ - Culture and Politics:

  • Institute for Contemporary History and City Presentation
  • Schiller40 Coworking SpaceM2K Museums-Culture-Creative Workshops
  • Youth development

Your voluntary ecological year

The NEST Nature Exploration Station offers the opportunity to complete a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ). You can spend the FÖK directly at NEST and support daily visits to kindergartens and school classes (grades 1-12) on many different ecological topics (always starts on September 1st). Alternatively, you can also do the FÖJ at the all-day schools, where you will lead a working group (always starts on August 1).
