Discover the world of books with your school class! Our library offers exciting activities for school classes, including regular visits by appointment. Library introductions for grades 1-4: Playful discovery and the basics of media literacy
The introductions range from getting to know the library in a playful way to the first small research tasks in which the pupils can search for and find media independently. An introduction lasts one to two school hours. The aim is to teach media skills.
Our offers for grades 1 to 4:
- Getting to know the library and the basics of using it
- Playful exploration of the library combined with a literary activity (reading aloud, picture book cinema, Onilo, reading game, etc.)
- First small research exercises
- Library driving license

The introductions range from a playful introduction to the library to a targeted media search. An introduction lasts one to two school hours. The aim is to teach media skills.

- Introduction to the new OPEN catalog
- Researching the library's physical and digital media holdings and the self-service functions
- Introduction to the JULIUS-CLUB summer reading club
Students can also use their own mobile devices to search the catalog, both iOS and Android. Notebooks, iPads and office PCs are also available for learning in the library. We have free WLAN.

Library introductions: Learning effective research techniques and using digital resources
The introduction takes one to two lessons. Independent information procurement is taught and practiced. The aim is to teach media skills.

- The new catalogOPEN https://ebibliothek.stadt.wolfsburg.de/ for researching the library's physical and digital media holdings and the self-service functions
- Full-text documents from the subscribed, reputable Munzinger databases on the topics of people of the 20th century, countries, sport, pop, literature and film. The function is now available on all new catalog PCs within the library
- The Brockhaus and Britannica Library encyclopaedias
- Help with literature research for specialist work and media procurement via interlibrary loan from the library
- Learning exercises can be prepared and evaluated in a fun way using the Kahoot quiz app
Mobile versions are also available for researching the catalog and Munzinger databases, so that students' own mobile devices can also be used, both on iOS and Android.
