The IZS regularly documents its work at events, in workshops, and also in local history publications such as the "Wolfsburg Saga," in which the city's history is traced and interpreted objectively and in great detail.

The IZS is not only the competence center of the city of Wolfsburg with regard to the research, mediation and presentation of the city's history, but also sees itself as a place of cultural memory.
