Percussion

The percussion can be used as a solo, ensemble, orchestral and band instrument in all musical genres from classical, ethnic, modern, pop to jazz.

This is what a drum kit sounds like:

The percussion ensemble

Sound sample "Percussion Ensemble":

It is possible to learn this instrument from the age of 8 (depending on size) to 99 (depending on movement). A sense of rhythm and tempo as well as manual dexterity are welcome prerequisites. What is needed in any case is a desire to play, perseverance and patience.

Group lessons are recommended for younger pupils, which can later lead to individual and ensemble lessons. For the "older ones", individual lessons are advantageous, with subsequent opportunities to join an ensemble, band or orchestra.

"Blues for Gilbert" is not a formal blues composition, but rather Mark Glentworth tries to express his mood, which the death of his teacher Gilbert Webster triggered in him. He also dedicated this piece posthumously to him. The composition has been a "standard" piece for all percussionists with a focus on melodic percussion instruments for many years. Marek Reimann studied percussion instruments at the Poznan Academy of Music. After passing the audition he became a member of the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Poznan. He is active as a chamber musician and soloist in various orchestras, including the Radio Symphony Orchestra of the HR Frankfurt and the NDR Hannover. Since May 1988 he has been a full-time teacher at the Wolfsburg Music School of the City of Wolfsburg and has since led many students to prizes in the "Jugend musiziert" competition. With the percussion ensemble of the music school he regularly visits the twin city Bielsko-Biala.
