Moonlighting
What is undeclared work? Where do I report undeclared work? And what is not undeclared work?
Undeclared work is performed by anyone who performs services or work to a considerable extent or has them performed and in doing so:
- as an employer, entrepreneur or self-employed person subject to compulsory insurance, fails to fulfill their social security reporting, contribution or record-keeping obligations,
- as a taxpayer does not fulfill his tax obligations,
- as a recipient of social benefits, does not fulfill his reporting obligations to the social benefit provider,
- has not complied with its obligation to register a standing trade or has not acquired a traveling trade card or
- independently operates a craft requiring a license as a standing trade without being entered in the craft register
The City of Wolfsburg is responsible for the prosecution of violations of trade and craft law in accordance with numbers 4 and 5 as the municipal authority for combating illegal employment.
If the service or work is not sustainably profit-oriented
- by relatives or partners (example: the family supports each other in building a house)
- as a favor (example: favors are usually unpaid assistance)
- by way of neighborly or self-help (example: This is understood to mean mutual (unpaid) assistance between neighbors, family members, members of a local association and the like).
