Weapons destruction

  • General information

    • Weapons surrender for destruction
    • when handing in the weapon directly in the town hall, a destruction protocol is drawn up

  • Requirements

    • Legal firearms, i.e. weapons subject to registration that are also registered on a weapons possession card.
    • Non-registration firearms, e.g. alarm, gas, signal or compressed air weapons with certain test marks ("PTB in a circle", "F in a pentagon")
    • Legal owner, as evidenced, for example, by presentation of the firearms ownership card.

  • Required documents

    • All permits required under weapons law, e.g. weapons possession cards, weapons licenses, small weapons licenses
    • Identity card

  • Fees

    free of charge (destruction and related eventual discharges of weapons from a weapons possession card)

  • Special features

    • for weapons drop-off at the City Hall, room B 012; the firearms are not ready to fire (unloaded) and not ready to be accessed, i.e. in a lockable container or well packed (garbage bag, adhesive tape, wrapped with a blanket); however, the transport may only take place if the weapons possession card is available.
    • The City of Wolfsburg offers a weapons collection service by the Municipal Ordinance Service for persons with impaired health, also for reasons of age. For this purpose, a written collection order, which must exclusively state the wish to destroy the weapons, the weapons ownership card (for delivery) and the identity card (for presentation) are required. The provision of a telephone number for the purpose of making an appointment is desired.
    • Illegal firearms, i.e. weapons that are subject to registration and are not registered on a weapons ownership card, will be collected exclusively by the officers of the Wolfsburg/Helmstedt Police Inspectorate.
