Our approximately 3,000 employees in the city administration and more than 2,300 employees in the municipal hospital all work together to ensure that living and working in Wolfsburg runs smoothly. We offer comprehensive and service-oriented services to more than 128,000 Wolfsburg residents in a wide range of professions.
This ranges from new construction and infrastructure concepts to future-oriented education and care services. We are just as concerned with establishing innovative mobility as we are with expanding the digital infrastructure for a smart city in which everyone can participate.

The city for which we are so committed has undergone enormous development since it was founded on July 1, 1938: from just 900 people in three small communities to a cosmopolitan, diverse city with around 128,000 inhabitants from 151 nations and all the leisure, cultural and sporting activities a big city has to offer. We are proud of this and also of the fact that it has always been so green and airy here. No matter which part of the city or district you live in, you can reach parks, forests or lakes in just a few minutes on foot or by bike. So even in the "Volkswagen city" of Wolfsburg, you don't necessarily have to travel by car.
