Water sensors
With the water sensor project, the city of Wolfsburg is using a digital solution to continuously collect water data . The aim is to be able to transparently track changes in water quality and groundwater levels. As part of the Smart City project, sensors were installed and put into operation at 13 measuring points in the city. Three points for measuring water quality and ten points for measuring the groundwater level. In the coming year, the use of sensors is also planned for the popular bathing lake, the Allersee.
The project is being implemented jointly: the Digitalization and Economy Department is initiating an innovative IoT project (Internet of Things), i.e. automated communication between devices, together with the city's environmental department, Wolfsburg's drainage companies (WEB) and WOBCOM, in which sensors can be used to measure water quality and water levels in Wolfsburg's bodies of water
