The artist Volker Veit has transformed the monument into an "object box" that displays and protects valuable exhibits, just like in a museum. Until September, the "object box" - as the title of the installation suggests - will serve as a protected space for his artistic work.
Veit's works are based on the complex of themes and the associated differences between individuality and community. Words and images of everyday life are often the background for his works. Focusing on people with their light and shadow sides, the works emerge from a basic idea and are then completed layer by layer on a picture carrier or at the installation site. Words are also mixed into the reduced, abstract pictorial compositions in the installation in the ground monument. The word Endlich can be seen on six canvases positioned against the wall. The meaning can be read in many different ways and cannot be clearly assigned. Does the word refer to the finiteness that determines life or is something finally being set in motion here?
