Fall construction sites: We are renovating the roads for Wolfsburg

Vacations are used for important work

From October 7 to 19, the city of Wolfsburg will be renovating a section of Braunschweiger Straße. From the junction with Am Rotheberg to just before the junction with Siemensstraße, the surface of Braunschweiger Straße will be renewed in the direction of the city center during the autumn vacations. This will require a full closure of the road in the direction of the city center. The Shell petrol station will be closed during the construction work and there will be no restrictions for pedestrians and cyclists. The detour will be via Röntgenstraße, Hochring, Stadtwaldstraße, Laagbergstraße and Heinrich-Heine-Straße.

"During the fall break, we are once again working hard to improve our road network. In general, we have been able to tick a few items off our to-do list. We are very satisfied with the renovation measures in 2024," explains First City Councillor and City Planning Councillor Kai-Uwe Hirschheide.

After the surface course has been milled off, the Wolfsburg drainage companies (WEB) will first carry out work on the road drains before a new asphalt surface is applied. The traffic light loops are then cut and the road markings applied.

The state of Lower Saxony is renovating a section of the L 290 between Sandkrugstraße and K 36 during the vacations. The road surface will also be renewed here between October 4 and 18. This will require a full closure of the section. The detour will be via Nordsteimker Straße, Berliner Ring and Dieselstraße.

Further roadworks in Detmerode, Fallersleben, Vorsfelde and the city center

From October 7, work will also be carried out on Meinstraße/Mühlenweg (Vorsfelde), John-F.-Kennedy-Allee (Detmerode) and August-Lücke-Straße (Fallersleben). From October 14, work will also start on Rothenfelder Straße (city center). All work will be carried out as part of ongoing road maintenance and is expected to be completed by the end of the fall vacations.

While a detour via Carl-Grete-Straße and Obere Tor will be signposted for Meinstraße and Mühlenweg, no special detour will be necessary for the work on John-F.-Kennedy-Allee and August-Lücke-Straße. During the renovation of Rothenfelder Straße, the area between Berliner Ring and the first access road to the district court in the westbound direction (city center) will be affected. A detour will be in place via Berliner Ring and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. Crossing for cyclists and pedestrians will be possible via the underpass at the St. Annen junction and the traffic lights on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. Should further restrictions become necessary, the administration will provide information in good time.
