Successfully planting trees
The planting work on the district road 111 between Heiligendorf and Barnstorf is now complete. Following the renovation of the carriageway, the final step was the planting of a total of 170 new street trees. These include 80 trees that were planted as compensation for the Krummer Morgen development area in Heiligendorf. The trees are 41 maples, 14 ash trees, ten oaks, 48 lime trees and 57 elms.
This means that there is now an attractive avenue in this section that enriches the landscape. The redesign of district road 111 has made an important contribution to the traffic infrastructure and to enhancing the landscape. The complete closure was necessary for safety reasons during the planting work and was reopened three days earlier than initially planned. Since then, the road has been open to traffic again without any restrictions. The full closure meant that the work could be carried out more quickly overall.
