Soon Wolfsburg will be bubbling again. In the coming weeks, all the fountains will gradually be turned on, as the city has now announced. First, however, the individual fountains will be cleaned of dirt and leaves and tested for proper functioning. At the same time, repairs will be carried out on individual installations. Work on the fountains in the city center is expected to start in the week beginning April 1. The systems can then be put into operation, as more severe frosts, which could damage the technology, are no longer expected. All fountains should be in operation by the end of April if possible.

The city is therefore switching on the fountains a little earlier than in previous years. Due to cost-cutting measures, the fountains were not put into operation until after Easter. However, due to the late Easter vacations, it was decided to bring the date forward this year. As a result, the fountains contribute to the revitalization of the surrounding area during the Easter vacations, when experience shows that there is a lot of pedestrian traffic, especially in the inner city area. This offers real added value for many citizens.
