The Lebensretter cards have been issued since 2017 and offer numerous discounts in Wolfsburg for a year. The card, which was specially developed for the city by aid organizations, recognizes volunteer work in fire and disaster protection and is intended to support its promotion. This year's cards have now been presented by the aid organizations in the presence of Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann and Stefan Krieger, Head of the Volunteer Office.

The card is aimed at volunteers working for the volunteer fire department, the German Red Cross (DRK), the Maltesers, the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), the German Armed Forces and the German Life Saving Association (DLRG). It can be used to take advantage of numerous benefits in Wolfsburg.
