Exhibitions in the Municipal Gallery

Rose Wylie, Choi & Lager Gallery, Cologne

The current exhibitions at a glance:

Whether sculptures in the castle park or exhibitions in Wolfsburg Castle, there are always current positions in contemporary art to discover here. We look forward to your visit!

  • Carsten Fock "scendere a terra"

    May 9 to December 27, 2015

Opening on May 9 at 6 pm

Carsten Fock's (*1968) central medium is painting, the technical possibilities of which he constantly explores anew. He does not shy away from experimentation, whereby the boundaries between abstract, gestural-expressive painting and figuration remain in limbo.

  • RE_VISION exhibition and event series

The Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg is declaring 2015 a project year under the title "RE_VISION".

The Museum of Contemporary Art of the City of Wolfsburg looks back with pride on 40 years of exhibitions, publications, events and collection activities at Wolfsburg Castle. However, round birthdays are not always a cause for celebration. Sometimes such occasions combine exuberance with thoughtfulness. After all, looking back into the past always opens up the unknown that lies hidden in the future.

  • ENOUGH FOR ALL - 40 Years of the Municipal Gallery

Works from the collection in dialog with wall paintings by Roland Schappert. The Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg has been housed in Wolfsburg Castle since 1974 and now presents contemporary art on six exhibition floors.

  • Ode to forgetfulness - Bernhard Martin

Bernhard Martin has designed a gazebo that seems to have sunk into the earth, with only the roof still peeking out. A branch, crowned by a fashionable shoe, grows boldly out of the roof. And around this surreal-looking sculpture, a small labyrinth has been created, consisting of various hedge plants.

  • Thomas Kiesewetter "Cube

Three large-scale sculptures by Thomas Kiesewetter present unusual views and vistas in the Schlosspark, the artist's first intervention in public space in Germany. Thomas Kiesewetter's sculptures thrive on dissonance.
