Social long-term care insurance provides benefits to relieve the burden on family caregivers. These include, in particular, respite care, the option for people in need of care to attend day care during the day and the so-called relief amount. In the area of geriatric psychiatric illnesses, for example dementia, the AGE "Psychiatric help for older citizens" advice center offers, among other things, support talks, information on regional support services and discussion groups for family caregivers.
