The so-called Schrader's Mill, which was built more than 150 years ago on the Pathfinderweg between the Wolfsburg districts of Kreuzheide and Kästorf, is another branch of the Wolfsburg Castle City Museum. It is a trestle windmill that originally stood in Schöppenstedt. A miller dismantled it there in 1861 and rebuilt it in Kästorf near Wolfsburg.

With the first documentary mention of the water mill at Brackstedt we go back to the year 1434. Here the mill appears in a list of income of the lords of Bartensleben. Since then, the Brackstedt mill looks back on an eventful history. The house has seen quite a bit in almost 600 years and certainly has many an exciting story to tell.
