Land purchase and land application

You would like to purchase a municipal property?

If you want to build your dream home, you first have to find the right piece of land.

In addition to purchasing a plot of land from a private owner and project developer, you also have the option of purchasing a plot of land from the city by filling out the "Application to purchase a municipal building plot". The city offers you urban plots in different sizes.

Interested in urban land?

Are you interested in a plot of land in a construction area that is still in the planning stage or in a construction phase of a construction area that has not yet been developed? We can give you the opportunity to register your interest at an early stage. For this purpose, the City of Wolfsburg maintains a so-called applicant list for the sale of municipal building plots. Please indicate your wishes in the application form. As soon as it is possible to estimate when the building area or the building section can be built on, you will receive up-to-date information.

Are you interested? Then fill out our property application and send it to the municipal marketing team. If, contrary to expectations, you have not received confirmation of receipt within four weeks, please contact us.


Municipal plot - reservation

Should we be able to offer you a suitable plot of land, we will immediately send you a purchase offer. In addition to the purchase conditions, the document contains the essential rights and obligations of the buyer and seller. Please note: Depending on the building area, individual regulations may apply. In principle, you now have one month to declare yourself. During this time, the plot is reserved for you free of charge. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the marketing team.

If the time period is not sufficient for you in individual cases, please speak openly about this. We will find a mutually acceptable arrangement. We strive to provide unbureaucratic assistance!

Purchase price and development costs

The city sells its plots of land at an "all-in price," which means that in addition to the actual price of the plot, the wastewater contribution for the initial connection to the public sewerage system (wastewater and stormwater connections are made to or within 1 meter of the plot) and the development contribution for the initial construction of roads, paths, parking areas and green spaces and the segregation of the plot (without boundary stones) are already taken into account.

The all-in price varies from plot to plot and is determined, among other things, by the location in the construction area. In addition to the costs for the plot, there are also so-called ancillary construction costs, which include, for example, land transfer tax, notary fees and costs for electricity, heat and water connections and so on.
