Issue of a corpse passport

A corpse passport may be required for the repatriation of a body abroad. If the person has died in Wolfsburg, an application for a corpse passport must be submitted to the Health Division of the City of Wolfsburg. The application can be made by the next of kin or the funeral home responsible for transportation.

You can complete the application using the form provided on this page. Please then contact us by telephone so that we can arrange an appointment for you to hand over the printed form to us and receive the funeral passport and an invoice.

Applicants must always appear in person at the Health Division, Rosenweg 1a, 38446 Wolfsburg and present the following documents: death certificate, confidential part of the death certificate, optional release certificate from the public prosecutor's office.

Please notify the public health department of your personal appearance in good time by telephone to avoid long waiting times.
