The city of Wolfsburg is having the pedestrian zone comprehensively cleaned. The work is expected to start in the week beginning July 1 and be completed in about three weeks. Special machines will be used to ensure thorough and effective cleaning of the paving in the pedestrian zone. In particular, chewing gum residue will be removed.

Areas that are currently occupied by events will be cleaned separately afterwards. For the work, sections will be temporarily cordoned off during daily working hours. The project is part of the city's program to beautify the cityscape. The total costs amount to around 40,000 euros. The city asks for your understanding for temporary restrictions during the cleaning work. Residents will be informed separately.
