Access becomes barrier-free
Construction work at Neuhaus Castle begins on July 15
In the week beginning July 15, work will begin on barrier-free access to Neuhaus Castle. The path to the castle leads over a bridge with natural cobblestones and is therefore difficult to negotiate for visitors with limited mobility.
"I am delighted that Neuhaus Castle will soon be barrier-free for visitors to the events held there, users of the rooms for rent and visitors to the exhibitions and activities of the BAzwo artists' group," says First City Councillor and Head of Building Kai-Uwe Hirschheide.
As part of the project, the natural stones will be removed, cut and reinstalled across a path width of around 1.60 meters to create a barrier-free path. The existing material will be reused and the earthworks will be accompanied by archaeologists.
