On the trail of the past

Archaeological vacation workshop

How do archaeologists know where and how people used to live? Where can archaeological traces be found in Wolfsburg? Under the title "The Archaeological Primary School", children of primary school age investigated archaeological sites in the city on October 14 and 15. The Lower Monument Protection Authority and the Architecture Forum of the City of Wolfsburg had invited children to take part.

The finds were then cleaned and analyzed together. The young researchers also learned about typical objects from the Middle Ages and how they were made over a thousand years ago. They were accompanied by excavation technician Daniel Pollok from our Lower Monument Protection Authority, among others.
