Special exhibition of the Hoffmann von Fallersleben Museum

The new special exhibition Die mir das Herz verbrennt. Im Rausch der Tulpen. by Berlin collector and photographer Volker Weinhold at the Hoffmann von Fallersleben Museum in the M2K shows various everyday objects from stove tiles, crockery, vases, books and furniture to chocolate packaging adorned with various tulip motifs. In his photo studio, he stages his "treasures" of 17th century tulip painting.

With his photographic still lifes, he creates his own image of that era and a flower that is still regarded today as an eternal symbol of beauty and transience in an artistic intervention. Volker Weinhold also staged centuries-old exhibits from museums in Admont, Coburg and Ulm with colorful tulips. The artist was inspired by Hoffmann's flower poetry, among other things, for his tulip project. The exhibition can be seen until Sunday, April 6.

During the exhibition period, specific tulip installations will also be created in Fallersleben Castle with exhibits from the local museum. However, the 40 or so photographs and a selection of historical objects from Volker Weinhold's collection are already on display at the Hoffmann von Fallersleben Museum in the M2K. And there are several thematic links to Hoffmann von Fallersleben as a poet and songwriter, as a co-founder of Dutch studies and as a lover of flowers, which will be developed in the accompanying program, for example on:
