Night of the libraries

An evening full of experiences in the city library

On Friday, April 4, Wolfsburg City Library will be transformed into a place full of exciting experiences and creative discoveries. At the Night of the Libraries, visitors* can expect a varied program with readings, hands-on activities and gaming highlights - an evening that brings the diversity of the library to life. All events are free of charge and invite you to get to know the city library in a new way.

Iris Bothe, Head of the Department for Youth, Education, Integration and Social Affairs, explains: "The Night of the Libraries impressively demonstrates that libraries are much more than just places for books. They are lively cultural and meeting places for all generations. With this diverse program, we invite all citizens to rediscover the city library and experience unforgettable moments together."

A special experience for the little ones

The city library has a special surprise in store for the youngest guests in particular: the picture book movie Heute schlaf ich anderswo followed by a cuddly toy sleepover. The adventure begins at 4 pm in the Lerntreff under the arcades. After the story, the children make personalized name bracelets before saying goodbye to their cuddly toys at 7 p.m., who can spend another exciting night in the library. To register, please call 05361/28-2530 or send an e-mail to stadtbibliothek@bildungshaus-wolfsburg.de.

Gaming fun for children and teenagers

There is a double gaming highlight for children aged ten and over in the youth library. From 3 p.m., participants can compete in the Mario Kart tournament on the Nintendo Switch. As places are limited, we recommend registering by calling 05361/28-2530 or sending an email to jugendbibliothek@bildungshaus-wolfsburg.de. Directly afterwards, the open gaming evening from 6 to 9 p.m. invites you to play spontaneously. Whether it's exciting matches or exploring digital worlds together - there's something for everyone here.

Literary enjoyment with Brigitte Glaser

Another highlight awaits literature enthusiasts in the adult library: bestselling author Brigitte Glaser will take her audience on a journey to the picturesque region of Baden-Alsace with her new novel Kaiserstuhl at 7 pm. Her reading promises an evening full of charm and fascinating insights into a special way of life. Anyone interested can register by calling 05361/28-2530 or sending an e-mail to stadtbibliothek@bildungshaus-wolfsburg.de.

Wolfsburg City Library is looking forward to welcoming numerous visitors and an unforgettable evening full of literary, cultural and playful highlights.
