We drive sustainable mobility forward

New mobiSTATIONS at four locations

We are setting another milestone in sustainable mobility development: building on the discussions in the local councils, we have submitted a proposal for the construction of four new mobility stations (mobiSTATIONEN). Subject to positive political decisions, these are to be implemented by 2026 at Fallersleben station, Brandenburger Platz, Vorsfelde Lange Straße (Obere Tor stop) and Westhagen Dresdner Ring (Jenaer Straße stop).

With a total investment of EUR 925,000, of which EUR 601,200 comes from the Smart Cities model projects funding program, these locations are to be developed into modern mobility hubs. The aim is to connect different modes of transport - including bicycles, buses, e-scooters and car sharing - in one place to make environmentally friendly alternatives more attractive. We also want to further consolidate our status as a pioneer of e-mobility and create additional charging infrastructure.

Hubs with a high quality of stay

In addition to a functional connection, we attach particular importance to a high quality of stay. The stations will be equipped with Wi-Fi, seating, water dispensers and bike service points. "With the mobiSTATIONEN, we are creating new hubs for networked, sustainable mobility in Wolfsburg. They make it easier to switch between different modes of transport and at the same time offer modern services that enhance public spaces," explains Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann.

In times of tight budgets, it should also be emphasized that the mobility station concept has a modular structure. Depending on the situation, they are planned around existing infrastructure and existing services. This saves costs and enables a sustainable roll-out perspective.

Completion planned for March 2026

In the long term, the mobiSTATIONEN are to become part of a comprehensive mobility network that facilitates the switch from motorized private transport to environmentally friendly alternatives. As part of the Smart Cities pilot project, we are already examining further locations and optimization options for sustainable transport planning. The implementation of the current four locations is an important step in making Wolfsburg's mobility services fit for the future.

Construction work is scheduled to begin at the end of the third quarter of 2025, with completion planned for March 2026.
