First CTC report: From data to action!
Findings on improving the quality of life of young people

"The CTC report gives us an important basis for better understanding where young people in Wolfsburg need support," emphasizes Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. "The data helps us to develop targeted measures that improve their quality of life and strengthen prevention."
Iris Bothe, Head of the Department for Youth, Education, Integration and Social Affairs, adds: "The results of the report show where we need to start in order to better support young people in Wolfsburg. Together with schools, families and other partners, such as the State Office for Schools and Education, we want to implement targeted measures that have a lasting effect."
The key points of the report include
- Analysis of the current situation: the report provides a comprehensive analysis of the living conditions and challenges facing young people in Wolfsburg. Among other things, the survey revealed that 74.7 percent of young people in Wolfsburg are currently satisfied with their lives.
- Identification of risk and protective factors: The most important risk factors for young people in Wolfsburg are identified, including social, economic and health aspects. Unfortunately, 38.7 percent of young people already show signs of anti-social behavior. This includes truancy, petty crime and vandalism. Strong family support (45.3%) and involvement in positive leisure activities (52.8%), which serve as key protective factors, are particularly pronounced. These factors make a significant contribution to protecting young people from negative influences and strengthening their resilience.
- Recommendations for prevention measures: Based on the findings of the report, specific recommendations are made for prevention measures to help improve the quality of life and safety of young people.
As part of the CTC action plan, we will actively work on implementing the prevention strategy in close cooperation with the local schools, children, young people and families as well as the stakeholders in the pilot districts of Fallersleben and Mitte-West. A particular focus will be on cooperation with the Lower Saxony State Prevention Council in order to make the measures effective and sustainable.
What happens next
In the next step, specific events on the prevention strategy will be planned and carried out with the participating schools and stakeholders in the neighborhoods. The aim is to minimize the identified risk factors through targeted measures and to promote positive living conditions for children and young people. We are committed to ensuring that all young people have the best possible opportunities for a safe and successful future.
