Pending Translation: Für den Betrieb einer Gaststätte, eines Imbiss, einer Diskothek oder eines ähnlichen Betriebes ist spätestens vier Wochen vor der Eröffnung eine Anzeige nach dem Nds. Gaststättengesetz erforderlich. Diese Anzeige kann gemeinsam mit der Gewerbeanmeldung vorgenommen werden.

Since 01.01.2012, this notification has replaced the previous application for a restaurant permit.
It is strongly recommended that the Veterinary Office is consulted in good time to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations and the Urban Planning and Building Consultancy Division to ensure compliance with building regulations.

If alcoholic beverages are to be served, additionally:
- proof of application for a certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority
- an extract from the central business register
If a temporary catering business is to be operated, for example at events, notification must also be given four weeks in advance. The aforementioned documents must also be submitted in this case.
If you wish to set up an outdoor area for catering purposes that is located on a public traffic area, you will require a special use permit.
- Notification of a restaurant business in accordance with § 2 (1) and (4) of the Lower Saxony Restaurant Act
- Trade - registration according to section 14 GewO or section 55c Gewerbeordnung (trade regulations)
- Application for special use for outdoor catering
- Information on the notification of catering for temporary events
- General decree on the handling of water pipes (so-called shishas) in premises of restaurants in the city of Wolfsburg
