Crime Prevention
The city of Wolfsburg has set itself the task of initiating or supporting prevention projects and measures in order to prevent crime at an early stage.
The logo of crime prevention
The crime prevention steering group is the body that initiates projects and campaigns and formulates crime prevention strategies and objectives, quality standards and responsibilities.
The individual projects are managed by means of target agreements and reports and - where necessary - working groups are set up for specific topics. The projects are organized by target group or area (e.g. safety in the city centre).

Main focus
Various institutions in Wolfsburg deal with the issue of alcohol. The city and the police also deal with this issue as part of their crime prevention work. A particular focus is on alcohol abuse among children and young people. Various measures have already been initiated in this regard:
- Regular checks by the Streetlife team in the city area.
- Increased checks by Streetlife and the police in the Allerpark recreation area during the summer months.
- Alcohol test purchases from Wolfsburg retailers
- Project "When your child sees everything foggy!" . Invitation of children caught drinking alcohol with their parents to a counseling session at the city's educational counseling center (possibility of reimbursement of transportation costs)
- Reporting to the driver's license office if children/adolescents have been caught drinking alcohol several times or have a high alcohol level that suggests they already have an alcohol problem.
Three years ago, a network was formed that meets once a year to exchange experiences on alcohol abuse among children and adolescents and to work out solutions.
