All of our specialists receive a permanent employment contract. For specialists who do not yet have a completed nursery teacher training or equivalent qualification as a pedagogical specialist in accordance with the NKiTaG, the employment contract contains the condition that this qualification must be acquired. This helps us to ensure the quality of the educational work and to enable equal working conditions in all teams.
You are free to decide whether you would like to join us full-time (39 hours/week) or part-time (at least 19.5 hours/week). Scheduling takes place in close coordination with the team and, in many facilities, is self-determined by the teams. Parents of younger children can work with us within the core childcare hours (08:00-16:00) to ensure a good work-life balance.
With us, you have a fixed facility for which you work. You are part of this KiTa and its team. At the same time, the municipal KiTas consist of a strong network of 12 KiTas and KiFas. This gives you the opportunity to take part in projects, study days and working groups across all facilities and to exchange ideas with your colleagues from other facilities.
As a provider, we can offer our employees a wide range of support in their daily work, e.g. specialist advice and in-house training. We also offer you a wide range of opportunities to develop yourself. For example, you have the option of changing facilities if required.
Your employer is the city of Wolfsburg. This offers many other benefits, such as a wide range of internal city activities and training courses, a strong staff council and the city's own activity program.
Good childcare centers need good professionals. That is why we offer our employees various training and further education opportunities:
- 8 study days per year
- In-house training on various educational topics (e.g. observation methods, EE strategies, parent-teacher conferences, child welfare, gender-sensitive education) and personal development (e.g. work techniques and time management, first aid, practical guidance)
- Every year, we offer the opportunity to gain the following qualifications, among others: Marte Meo Practitioner, Curative Education Specialist, EE Specialist, EE Consultant, Long-term daycare training
- In-house specialist advice & Supervision options
- City's own qualification program on a wide range of topics, for example dealing with office products, mindfulness or administrative know-how.
To make it easier for our new colleagues to get started, there is an onboarding week for all new employees every spring and summer. This provides lots of information for everyday working life, initial pedagogical training and plenty of opportunities to network with others.
We have also adapted our documentation booklet "Growing & Maturing" for the induction of new colleagues: In "Arriving & Roots", the milestones of your induction are made visible and reflected on together.
As a public provider, we offer you a professional creative space for the implementation of educational ideas, concepts and individual priorities at eye level. The municipal KiTas have an 8-member team to manage the organization. This team is multi-professional in order to provide the best possible support to the employees of the municipal KiTas. The team includes its own specialist advisor and experts for team development, recruiting, personnel development, quality development, controlling, personnel administration and much more.
