Immission control
Immissions in the sense of the Federal Immission Control Act are air pollution, noise, vibrations, light, heat, radiation and similar environmental effects affecting humans, animals and plants, the soil, water, the atmosphere and cultural and other material assets. Thus, immission control refers to all measures to prevent harmful immissions caused by air pollution, noise, vibrations and the like. These are such immissions which, by their nature, extent or duration, are likely to cause danger, considerable disadvantages or considerable nuisance to the general public or the neighborhood.
Depending on the type of plant, the responsibilities for immission control permits and complaints are divided between the State Trade Inspectorate or the immission control authority of the City of Wolfsburg. Plant approval and monitoring is carried out by the respective competent authority.
As the operator of a combustion plant (medium-sized combustion plant, gas turbine and internal combustion engine plant) with a rated thermal input of at least 1 MW and less than 50 MW, you are obliged to notify the competent authority in writing or electronically of the intended operation prior to commissioning.
