Foundation phase - what is it?
The start-up phase, also known as the seed stage, follows on from the pre-start-up phase and sharpens the focus on the specific business idea. This phase focuses on the product or service that is to be marketed by founding your own company.
The basic element of this phase is free start-up advice. Here, start-ups or founders can talk to experienced consultants and ask basic questions about the start-up and the business plan. If the answers are more complex or specialized, the start-up consultancy can provide a broad support network and refer those interested in founding a company to the relevant offices. Important issues in this phase include the question of financing from banks or the use of subsidies.
In addition to advisory services, prospective entrepreneurs also need a workplace or their own office space in order to pursue their business activities. So-called co-working spaces offer individual workplaces, which provide a desk and the complete office infrastructure such as a printer, mailbox and meeting rooms for a small fee.
Larger co-working spaces are often also equipped with a tinkerer's workshop. Here, people interested in setting up their own business can use 3D printers or CNC milling machines to make their first models or prototypes or playfully test new product ideas.

Once your start-up project has become concrete, we recommend discussing it with the start-up experts at the IHK. The final version of your business plan should be as complete, coherent and convincing as possible. In an individual consultation, the IHK will inform you about data sources, information providers, networks and optimization options for your concept. The fee for the consultation is 40 euros.

Coaching for university start-ups
The free coaching offer in cooperation with the Technology Transfer Office of TU Braunschweig is aimed at students, doctoral candidates, alumni and academic staff of both universities. Currently, all offers take place online.

Legal advice
A lawyer will advise you on the most suitable legal forms for you. You will receive information on the formalities involved in setting up a company, the liability aspects of the various legal forms and the advantages and disadvantages of individual legal forms.
The IHK is involved in the admissibility check of company names by the commercial register. The name must differ sufficiently from company names of other companies and must realistically reflect the type, scope and legal form of the company.

As a start-up, freelancer or established company, you can rent a modern and flexible workspace on a monthly basis. There are two different booking packages. Both include Wi-Fi, the use of a meeting room and a printer. Regular network meetings and events allow you to exchange ideas with other companies in the campus community.

The offices at the ICW are modern and flooded with light. They are rented furnished or unfurnished and from a size of 12 sqm. Variable contract terms and periods of notice allow you the greatest possible flexibility. All office spaces include access to a kitchenette, meeting rooms and common areas. Office space at the Open Hybrid LabFactory
In the OHLF you will find as a start-up and young company fully equipped modern office space in different sizes from single office to open plan office. Each office is equipped with a daylight window, flat screen TV and matching office furniture. The general office infrastructure (printing and copying equipment, telecommunications and WLAN & LAN) is available for your shared use. A shared kitchen also invites you to exchange ideas with other tenants.
For larger meetings, you can also book additional meeting rooms. These are equipped with video walls, whiteboards and telephone and video conference systems.
