Start-up ecosystem

Growth phase - what is it?

The growth stage addresses self-employed companies and startups that have already been founded and want to enter new markets or develop new products/services. Once young companies have completed the growth stage, they outgrow the startup ecosystem and become established companies.

On the way to becoming an established company, the business model may need to be adapted. Business development, prototyping and market research are the main focus here. In this case, a well-positioned startup ecosystem works with professional providers who can provide experts in various fields.

In the growth phase, it is not uncommon for human and spatial resources not to be able to keep up with the speed of development of the young company. This makes it all the more important to be able to search specifically for suitable premises and capable specialist personnel. For this purpose, a start-up ecosystem can offer suitable specialist personnel marketing or position potential commercial real estate in a highly visible manner.

Since the growth phase is often associated with high financial expenditure for startups and founders, it may make sense to bring additional investors on board. These investors are to be differentiated according to public, private and company-related investors and according to the amount of the investment volume. Business angel networks or venture capital providers are just two of many types. A well-positioned startup ecosystem maintains contact with such investor networks or, ideally, even operates its own venture capital company that invests in startups with equity.
