Restaurants and trade

The Trade and Traffic Team is a separate team within the Public Order Office that deals with the issues of trade, restaurants, weekly markets and illegal employment. This is the right place for you if you want to register, deregister or re-register a business. You will also find the right contact persons for the operation of a restaurant, a snack bar or a discotheque.
Roughly speaking, the term "trade" covers all economic activities that are carried out independently, on a permanent basis and with the intention of making a profit. According to Section 14 of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act, the legislator stipulates a so-called obligation to notify. This obligation to notify applies not only to the first-time registration of a trade, but also in the event of re-registration or deregistration.

For the operation of a restaurant, a snack bar, a discotheque or a similar business, a notification in accordance with the Nds. Restaurant Act is required at least four weeks before the opening. Since 01.01.2012, this notification has replaced the previous application for a restaurant permit.
